2013 inflation hits lowest level since 2009, says Istat

Last year’s rate was also the lowest level since 2009, the agency added. While high inflation is considered a serious problem for economies, an inflation rate that is too low is often judged a sign of serious weakness as it can indicate sluggish demand and growth.
