Italian man arrested in theft from Hermes fashion house (ANSA) – Milan, October 23 – A 47-year-old man accused of stealing luxury goods from a Hermes fashion house van was arrested Wednesday.

Police say they recovered designer handbags from the man’s home and suspect him in the robbery of goods worth tens of thousands of euros from a Hermes delivery van Tuesday morning while it was in Milan’s fashion district, the Quadrilatero della Moda.

Police are also investigating the involvement of a 22-year-old detained after being seen leaving the apartment of the accused with 22,000 euro.

While searching the home of the accused, police also discovered materials used to verify the purity of precious stones and gems.
