Pope, Abbas talk of need for courage for peace

(ANSA) – Vatican City, October 17 – Pope Francis and Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), spoke of the hope that a resumption in negotiations between Israel and the PNA could lead to “courageous decisions in favour of peace” during a meeting at the Vatican Thursday.

They also spoke of the hope for “reconciliation” in Syria.
