







































(ANSAmed) – Rome, May 14 – discovered a bacterium of intestinal flora capable of weight loss in obese laboratory mice that have a diet too rich in fats. The micro-organism is called Akkermansia muciniphila and just do it ‘drink’ mice to lose half of the extra kilos.
The result is shown in a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. In addition to losing weight, the mice also heal diabetes, explains Patrice dogs of the Catholic University of Louvain.
